Reno's new Sprouts Farmers Market location is scheduled to open at 7 a.m. May 12 at 299 E. Plumb Lane. Construction on the 24,000-square-foot store at Reno Public Market — formerly known as Shoppers Square at the intersection of Plumb and South Virginian Street — is nearly complete, according to a recent press release from the Phoenix-based grocery chain.
A grand opening celebration is expected to be announced in the coming weeks. “Sprouts welcomes shoppers with a farmer’s market experience and open layout featuring fresh produce at the center of the store,” according to the release. “Innovative, seasonal and attribute-driven products such as organic, plant-based, keto, paleo and more offer a treasure hunt shopping experience amid Sprouts’ healthy assortment.” The company plans to fill roughly 110 jobs at the new Reno Public Market location, which will be the third Sprouts in Northern Nevada, joining those at 125 Disc Drive in Sparks and 587 South Meadows Parkway in Reno.
