Special occasion and fast-fashion retailer Windsor Fashions LLC on Nov. 11 opened a new store in Reno at Meadowood Mall in the Macy’s Women’s wing, next to Express.
Founded by the Zekaria family in Sante Fe Springs, California, Windsor opened its first store in 1937 with a mission that continues to this day — “to create an oasis that inspires and empowers women,” according to a Nov. 19 press release.
“Windsor focuses on providing a broad selection of on-trend apparel for all the occasions in a woman’s life,” according to the press release, which also notes that, “during a time when many fashion retailers are closing or downsizing, Windsor is experiencing strong momentum both in-store and online.”
This May, Windsor announced plans to open an additional 150 retail store locations across 2021 and 2022.
“Now covering 42 states with 230 stores, Windsor has built a store model that is successful across all mall types and geographies. Their track record of same store growth and strong double digit CAGR is unmatched across the retail sector,” according to a May 18, 2021, press release announcing the news. “As many retailers were closing stores leading up to and during the COVID pandemic, Windsor continued to expand its store footprint and opened an additional 10 stores in the past 12 months despite COVID.”
As of November, the company now operates more than 280 stories, including the new Reno location.
