NNBW: What are some of the key things your business does to ensure premium levels of customer service?
Lewis Roca: Lewis Roca is unlike other law firms. We are redefining the client experience. Not only is Lewis Roca a proud Nevada business; we are a business that works hard to help other Nevada businesses thrive. At Lewis Roca, the firm always strives for better. Every client deserves an exceptional experience, and it is the firm’s mission to continuously exceed expectations and help clients achieve their goals. What matters to clients matters to the firm. NNBW: What makes Northern Nevada such a great place to own and operate a business?
Lewis Roca: Reno is still a small enough town where people know each other and work to ensure that economic development initiatives support the local economy. Reno and Lake Tahoe are also top destinations because of the region’s natural beauty that provides year-round reactional opportunities for skiing, golf, hiking, fishing and swimming. As a result, businesses benefit from the continued revenue stream provided by tourists. Additionally, Reno is considered the hub for advanced manufacturing, technology and e-commerce and provides beneficial tax incentives for businesses to prosper.
NNBW: As a local business owner, why do you feel it’s important to give back to the community?
Lewis Roca: Lewis Roca has a longstanding tradition of handling pro bono matters for people and organizations with financial need, promoting legal representation and donating significant resources to ensuring justice for the indigent. Lewis Roca manifested this tradition early on in cases such as Miranda v. Arizona, 384 U.S. 436 (1966), in which John P. Frank, John Flynn and others represented (pro bono) Ernesto Miranda in the landmark case giving rise to “Miranda Rights.” Lewis Roca actively encourages lawyers and staff to act as community service leaders — by helping nonprofit organizations, pro bono programs and civic groups or initiatives that enrich the lives of people throughout Reno. The firm is committed to providing volunteer service and community support because it believes in serving the common good where colleagues live and work. Many Lewis Roca attorneys in Reno also serve as board members and donate to various organizations to the support the community.
