City National Bank last week announced a donation of $10,000 to the Nevada Museum of Art to support its STEAM programs.

“City National Bank is proud to support the museum’s STEAM initiatives again this year,” Paul Stowell, Nevada regional executive of City National, said in a statement. “What David Walker and his staff are doing at the museum and their role in helping educate our students in the area of science, technology, engineering, art and math is absolutely amazing.”

As the leading visual art and design organization in the state of Nevada, the museum plays an essential role in shaping STEAM learning.

“Today, now more than ever, our K-12 STEAM work has never been more crucial to the social, cultural, and economic vibrancy of Nevada,” David B. Walker, CEO, stated. “We thank City National Bank for their generous support to help us continue to serve as the leading STEAM resource, endorsed by the state, and serving both K-12 students and educators statewide.”

Among other endeavors, the museum continues to serve the state’s educators, providing much needed state certification credits due to the state’s continued struggle in providing certified, district-sponsored visual arts teachers and training in arts integration.

Also, through its Educator Evenings program, the Nevada Museum of Art serves as an invaluable educational resource for K-12 teachers providing direct instruction, inspiration, and hands-on workshops.
