KPS3 recently hired communications veteran Nicole Shearer as public relations director of the Reno-based marketing and digital communications firm.
Shearer brings nearly two decades of experience to the role. She will work with clients to refine and perfect their public relations strategies, assisting with every facet of strategic communications — from media relations to social media, crisis management and content creation, according to a June 28 press release.
Before joining KPS3, Shearer spent eight years at the University of Nevada, Reno where she helped advance strategic priorities through communications initiatives in support of The College of Businesses, Student Services and University Police Services.
Previously, Shearer held roles at Renown Health and Northstar California.
“Nicole brings a wealth of communications expertise to KPS3,” Chrisie Yabu, vice president of public relations at KPS3, said in a statement. “She will help us elevate our PR and communications strategies to ensure they create meaningful and impactful results for our clients.”
Originally from California, Shearer moved to Reno for college and graduated with a degree in journalism from UNR in 2003.
KPS3 also announced June 30 the hiring of Reggie Stevens as a web developer.
Stevens started out in IT networking for Eldorado Resorts Inc./Caesars Entertainment, and over the course of 10-plus years, he worked his way up to the roles of senior web developer and development manager until eventually becoming the Director of DevOps.
Reggie received his BA in computer science and mathematics from UNR; he has a strong background in digital marketing, email marketing, SEO strategy and management.
