Local woman-owned firm Spaces Design & Planning this month announced an ownership transition — Camille Bailey steps into the lead role, taking over for company founder Kim Ciesynski.

Bailey has over 15 years of experience and a degree in interior design. While Ciesynski will still be involved at Spaces, she is looking forward to semi-retirement, “with a focus on specific design projects,” according to a June 17 press release from the firm, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year.

“Even when there is no global pandemic, it is an amazing accomplishment to stay in business for 25 years,” the company said in the release. “But add COVID-19 to the mix, and it became an even bigger challenge. Yet overcoming this is exactly what the Spaces Design and Planning team has done in achieving this milestone.”

The ownership transition also comes as the firm moved into newly renovated offices at 4185 Plateau Road in Reno; previously, the business was located at 1645 D St. in Sparks.
