Lewis Retail Centers on April 26 announced that construction is underway on the next building at the Damonte Ranch Town Center.

The new building will be the 17th built in the center and will add 13,200 square feet of retail space; it is more than 60% pre-leased, leaving 5,200 square feet available, according to an April 26 press release.

Further, nearly 2,500 square feet is designed to accommodate one or two restaurant spaces, with a grease interceptor and patio area. Expected completion on the building is this fall.

“Damonte Ranch Town Center has consistently produced strong retail activity and supports an increasingly significant resident population within the immediate radius,” Robert E. Lewis, president of the Nevada Division of the Lewis Group of Companies, said in a statement. “This newest addition is well situated between two strong retailers and will enjoy ample exposure as a result.”

The groundbreaking comes
after construction began last July at the center’s new Safeway grocery store; according to Lewis Retail Centers, the Safeway — which will be the third Safeway in the Reno-Sparks market — is set to open this month.

The new building under construction now is located between the new Safeway and Home Depot; RC Willey serves as Damonte Ranch Town Center’s third major anchor.

The 509,000-square foot Damonte Ranch Town Center is located at the corner of Steamboat Parkway and Damonte Ranch Parkway in South Reno. The center is part of the popular 2,000-acre Damonte Ranch master-planned community; an estimated 21,350 households are within a three-mile radius of Damonte Ranch Town Center.

In addition to the new building under construction, Lewis Retail Centers has three final pads available for ground lease, sale or build-to-suit tenants directly adjacent to Steamboat Parkway.
