The City of Reno on April 26 announced the hiring of Jackie Bryant as Assistant City Manager.

Bryant comes to Reno from the Second Judicial District Court, where she held the position of Clerk of Court and Court Administrator since November 2014. In the role, Bryant was responsible for operations of the District Court and oversaw all members of the Executive Leadership Team.

“We are incredibly excited to add Jackie to our City of Reno team,” City Manager Doug Thornley said in an April 26 press release. “Jackie has a wealth of administrative knowledge and is going to lend her expertise in Community Development, Public Works, Housing, franchise management, and Sustainability.”

Bryant previously served as a Nevada Governor's Deputy Chief of Staff and General Counsel; Insurance Counsel and Hearing Officer to the Nevada Division of Insurance (DOI); Staff Counsel to the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada (PUCN); and as an Attorney Associate for Holland & Hart. She practiced in the areas of public utility law, insurance law, and administrative law and worked in both the public and private sectors.

“I’m excited to bring my experience in Nevada to the City of Reno,” Bryant stated. “I’m honored to help lead the city as we slowly come out of the pandemic and enter a new and promising era for The Biggest Little City.”

Bryant earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Irvine, and her law degree from California Western School of Law. She moved to Northern Nevada in 1998 to work for the PUCN.
