Phoenix-based Healthcare Outcomes Performance Company recently acquired Reno-based Spine Nevada and its affiliated brands, Swift Urgent Clinic and Vein Nevada. Terms of the transaction, which closed on April 23, 2021, were not disclosed, according to a May 6 press release from healthcare investment bank Edgemont Partners, which advised Spine Nevada in the transaction. Greg Koonsman at VMG Health also advised on the transaction; Spine Nevada was represented by the law firm of Bass, Berry & Sims, and HOPCo was represented by the law firm of McGuire Woods. The acquisition creates a partnership with Spine Nevada — which has 14 locations in Reno, Carson City and Las Vegas — called HOPCo Nevada, which is designed to create a platform for integrated musculoskeletal and vein care. "Our model has been focused on providing comprehensive specialty care to our community by offering all of the necessary spine, musculoskeletal and vein services," Spine Nevada President James Lynch, MD, said in an April 28 statement. Per the agreement, HOPCo Nevada will have access to HOPCo's clinical and quality infrastructure, IT tools and claims analytics to partner with health systems, provider groups and payers. "Spine Nevada (has) been creating comprehensive and cost-effective care models since 2004 and share our vision for truly transformational care that will drive real value,” Dr. David Jacofsky, CEO of HOPCo, said in a statement. “They are a great addition to our growing number of partners throughout the country."
