Whitney Peak Hotel this month named hospitality industry veteran Ramon Villegas as its new General Manager. Villegas, who previously served as the property’s Director of Operations, will take over for Eric Olson as of June 3, according to a May 3 press release.
Olson was one of the original executives who helped open the hotel in May 2014 and had served as General Manager for the property since 2016, according to the release.
Joining Villegas in a new leadership role is Lindsay LaFleur, promoted from Office Manager to Assistant General Manager. LaFleur joined the hotel in 2015 as an Accounting Manager before being promoted to Office Manager, with oversight of all accounting and human resources functions for the hotel.

“Both Ramon and Lindsay bring a stability of leadership and long-term commitment to the hotel and the Reno community that will serve as a rock-solid foundation going forward,” Niki Gross, Managing Director for Whitney Peak Hotel, said in a statement. “While we are sad to lose Eric as he pivots into a new career, we wish him every success. We are deeply indebted to him for his work shepherding the hotel through its early years of growth and especially during the last 14 months following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Prior to joining Whitney Peak, Villegas served as Director of Restaurants at the Stowe Mountain Lodge and the Food and Beverage Director of the historic Harbor View Hotel in Edgartown, Massachusetts. His regional experience includes seven years as Director of Food Services at the Resort at Squaw Creek near Lake Tahoe.
LaFleur previously served in accounting, administrative and office management roles for several private companies in the Reno-Sparks region over the last 10 years.
