Silver State International announced this month that Josh Gibbs, service manager for the Sparks-based company, was named chairman of Truckee Meadows Community College Diesel Advisory Board. Gibbs has been a member of the advisory board for more than eight years, according to a May 13 press release. The board aims to shed light and bring awareness the field of diesel repair. As chairman, Gibbs will oversee participation in career fairs and other efforts to promote the diesel industry, including community outreach with Sierra Nevada Job Corps’ automotive program. Gibbs has been with Silver State International for 15 years and has been service manager for 8 years. He graduated from the Wyoming Technical Institute in 2006 with an emphasis in high performance engines and chassis building.
