Two years after opening its first Reno location, Crunch Fitness plans to open a second Northern Nevada gym this summer.

The global gym/fitness brand recently signed a long-term lease for the 30,000-square-foot anchor space at 1315 Scheels Drive, previously occupied by Best Buy, at the Outlets at Sparks Marina, according to a May 18 press release from Colliers Reno.

Roxanne Stevenson and Casey Scott of Colliers brokered the lease on behalf of the landlord, Gerrity Group.

“The former Best Buy location will be transformed into a hub of activity that provides a much-needed service for the (region’s) surrounding single-family, multi-family and hotel properties,” Scott said in a statement.

In August 2019, Crunch Fitness opened its first
Northern Nevada branch at the Meadwood Mall in Reno, next to Dick’s Sporting Goods. Former Nevada football player John Shepanek and his son, Tyler, are owners of the Reno franchise.

The new Sparks location is scheduled to open in late summer 2021, according to the press release; Crunch Fitness is also opening a new location this summer in North Las Vegas.

Crunch Fitness, which bases its brand on a “No Judgments Philosophy,” operates more than 300 locations across the world.
