Reno-based public relations firm G8 Strategies was honored recently with a pair of high-profile awards for its work last year producing the 2019 Annual Report for Carson City nonprofit Feeding Pets of the Homeless. G8 Strategies (formerly Gostin Strategic Consulting) worked with Carson City firm In Plain Sight Marketing (IPSM), the agency of record for Feeding Pets, to produce the 16-page report, earning a 2021 Award of Excellence in the Annual Report – General Non-Profit category in the 27th annual Communicator Awards. G8 Strategies President Ira M. Gostin served as project and creative director for the annual report, while IPSM’s Terri DeLaRosby and Kristin Furleigh served as art director and account manager, respectively. “Working with (G8) on this significant piece on behalf of our client showcases what can happen when agencies collaborate to bring their best resources together to produce high-quality work that moves the right needles for clients,” IPSM CEO Renee Plain said in a May 18 press release. The Communicator Awards is the leading international creative awards program honoring creative excellence for communications professionals. “The work that the In Plain Sight Marketing and (G8) teams did on our 2019 Annual Report is significant to our organization,” Genevieve Frederick, Feeding Pets president and founder, stated. “It is a major marketing tool that enables us to tell our story of who, how and why we help so many pets that belong to the homeless, while showing growth and opening us up for future donations to continue our mission.” The annual awards are judged and overseen by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA) in New York City. G8 Strategies also earned a Gold award in the Best Investor Relations category in the 2021 Bulldog PR Awards, which were announced May 20. The annual Bulldog Awards, a combination of the Stars of PR Awards and PR Awards, recognizes the “most outstanding PR and communications campaigns, and the most extraordinary individual and agency contributions to the industry,” according to a press release. Of note, the Bulldog Awards are the only PR awards program judged exclusively by journalists. Go to bulldogawards.com for the full list of 2021 winners.
