16 companies, nonprofits honored at EDAWN Existing Industry Awards

The Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada announced winners of the 2021 Existing Industry Awards on Oct. 21.
In all, 47 companies and several more nonprofits across Washoe County and Storey counties, as well as the cities of Reno, Sparks and Fernley, were nominated for this year’s awards and recognized during a special dinner event held that evening at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa, sponsored by NOW Foods.
“The existing primary companies in Northern Nevada make up the backbone of our regional economy,” Mike Kazmierski, CEO of EDAWN, said in a statement. “They are responsible for approximately 50% of our jobs. This event provides an opportunity to the community to thank these companies and let them know we truly appreciate their investment, commitment to the region and their many contributions to our economic vitality.”
