Nevada State Contractors Board Executive Officer Margi Grein announced Oct. 21 the promotion of Kenya McCampbell to Executive Assistant/Policy Analyst and the hiring of Michael Phillips as Public Information Officer. “The Nevada State Contractors Board and its staff are here to serve the people of the state of Nevada. Both Ms. McCampbell in her service to NSCB and Mr. Phillips throughout his career have demonstrated excellence and effectiveness in their work,” Grein said in a statement. “We take seriously our role in protecting the public’s health and safety. Developing and supporting policies to further the industry and foster public confidence is essential in carrying out our mission. Additionally, promoting and making vital information available is necessary to keep our communities informed and updated.”
Kenya McCampbell
Born in Southern California, McCampbell obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from Howard University and began working for the Nevada State Contractors Board as Public Information Assistant in 2006, according to an Oct. 21 press release. She was promoted to Executive Officer’s Executive Assistant and in 2014 became Investigations Executive Assistant for the Criminal Department. She will be receiving her Master in Urban Leadership this December from UNLV. Phillips, a fifth generation Nevadan and Las Vegas native, holds a degree in English Writing from the University of Nevada, Reno and a Master in Public Administration from UNLV. Phillips’ previous experience includes time as a U.S. Senate staff member, small business owner, nonprofit manager, water utility executive, and advocate/consultant.
