Fennemore in late September announced the hiring of 10 new attorneys, four of whom join the firm’s Nevada offices. The news comes on the heels of the firm’s recent acquisition of Denver litigation firm Reilly LLP in August, according to a Sept. 30 press release.

In Nevada, Kendall Lovell and Scott Cooper joined Fennemore’s Las Vegas office, while Therese Shanks joins the Reno office as an Of Counsel attorney, and Geenamarie Carucci joins the Reno team as an associate.

Shanks works in the firm’s Business Litigation practice group. Her practice focuses on appeals and litigation matters such as tort law, contract law, complex commercial transactions, employment law, trade secret, real property law and probate and trust.

Born and raised in Reno, Shanks began her career as a clerk at the Nevada Supreme Court for the Honorable Justice James W. Hardesty. She is currently a member of the Board of the Washoe County Bar Association, a member at large of the Appellate Section of the State Bar of Nevada, and serves on the amicus committee of the Nevada Justice Association.

Carucci also works in Fennemore Reno’s Business Litigation practice group. Born and raised in Reno, Carucci attended the University of Nevada, Reno, graduating Summa Cum Laude in three years. She then attended the University of Oregon School of Law, and graduated third in her class. Most recently, she finished a year-long clerkship for Chief Justice Hardesty.

“We are proud and honored to have Therese and Geena at the firm and in our office,” Craig Etem, Fennemore’s Reno office Managing Partner, said in a statement. “Not only are Therese and Geena rising legal stars, they’re also even better people who will profoundly impact our clients businesses, and our firm’s culture.”
