U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto, D-Nevada, toured Dragonfly Energy’s electric vehicle battery facility at 1190 Trademark Drive in Reno on Oct. 14.

According to a press release from the senator, the tour was conducted “to highlight Nevada’s growing clean energy economy and new jobs coming to the region.”

“Nevada is at the forefront of clean energy technology and innovation. Companies like Dragonfly Energy and countless others across the state are bringing good paying jobs to Nevadans and helping us combat climate change,” Cortez Masto said in a statement.

During the tour, the senator met with Sean Nichols and Denis Phares, co-founders of Dragonfly Energy, and other company staff.

Her visit came roughly two months after she came to Reno to meet with more than 20 business leaders and developers in the areas of renewable energy, battery recycling and conservation.
