The Nevada Mining Association on Oct. 14 donated $6,750 to Reno-based nonprofit Eddy House, thanks to the organization’s annual “Hope for Heat” campaign.

Funds will support the nonprofit’s mission to end youth homelessness in Northern Nevada through its daytime Drop-In Center, overnight shelter as well as life and job skills development programs, according to an Oct. 14 press release.
NVMA's Hope for Heat campaign took place May 31 to Sept. 6. Every day the temperature reached 90 degrees in Reno, $90 to Eddy House — that equated to 75 days this year.
The campaign also included donations to the Boys & Girls Club of Elko (for 90-degree days in Elko) and After-School All-Stars Las Vegas (for 100-degree days in Las Vegas).
In total, NVMA raised $20,660 for the three nonprofits this year.
