The Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority on Aug. 26 released updated monthly transient lodging and room tax statistics, reporting that July’s Taxable Room Revenue of $53,859,311 is the highest ever for a single month.

Two of the top three revenue-producing months in Northern Nevada have come back-to-back, according to an RSCVA press release — June 2021’s total of $45,219,688 was the most ever for the month of June and third-highest ever (behind August 2019).

“The Reno Tahoe team has worked tirelessly with our partners to ensure that Northern Nevada is at the top of the consideration list for travelers who are looking for a comfortable, exciting and necessary getaway,” RSCVA President and CEO Charles Harris said in a statement. “Reno Tahoe offers the spaciousness that travelers desire, while still being able to deliver on our promise of entertainment and events in an atmosphere that inspires confidence in travel and a fulfillment of the need for social interaction.”

In July 2021, Cash Occupied Rooms were up 0.9%, from 329,772 to 332,717, compared to July 2019, according to RSCA, which is comparing stats to two years ago due to widespread event cancelations and business closures in 2020 due to the pandemic.

Taxable Room Revenue in Washoe County was up 30%, from $41,432,593 to $53,859,311, over that same time period, and Average Daily Rates (ADR) increased 28.8%, from $125.64 to $161.88, breaking the previous month’s record for the highest ADR ever recorded for a single month.
