The Reno + Sparks Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Health & Wellness Fair on Friday, Sept. 24, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at its offices behind Reno Town Mall at 4065 S. Virginia St., Ste. 101. “We’re pleased to offer so many experts, information and updates to our members and others attending our Health & Wellness Fair,” Reno + Sparks Chamber of Commerce CEO Ann Silver said in a statement. “We’re in the midst of a COVID surge and flu season on the horizon, so this event will stimulate everyone’s interest in self-care and how to be mindful of others.” The fair will be split into three sections, according to a chamber press release:
One room will include educational sessions on topics like stress management, healthy sleep and ergonomics, as well as a a panel discussion on overcoming obesity, and a celebrity chef demonstration at 11:30 a.m.
An outdoor area will feature free fitness classes from local providers and a vaccination clinic.
A third space will include booths for attendees to peruse and receive biometric assessments, nutritional guidance, information on various health plans, cancer screenings and more.
The Reno + Sparks Chamber is partnering with Prominence Health Plan, Saint Mary’s Health System, Novo Nordisk, Donor Network West and Immunize Nevada for the event.
“The Reno + Sparks Chamber hopes its health fair will serve to strengthen ties between the business community and health and wellness, providing access to key services and encouraging employers and employees alike to partner in prioritizing health,” according to the press release.
