Carson Valley Medical Center welcomed Lisa McKinney to its Ironwood Primary Care clinic.
McKinney was recently honored for her 30 years of service with CVMC. She began her nursing career in 1989 by studying nursing at Lower Columbia College in Washington and hasn’t stopped learning since. After her first quarter of nursing school, she qualified as a certified nursing assistant, and following her first full year of school, she took the board certification to become a licensed practical nurse. Working in private care as an LPN for an injured police officer, McKinney completed her schooling to become a registered nurse.
McKinney landed a job with Barton Health in South Lake Tahoe and settled her family near the lake. She worked in multiple specialties including med/surg, ambulatory surgery, post-anesthesia care unit, operating room, administered moderate sedation for procedures, Infusion center and Radiology.
Following her employment at Barton Health, she joined the team at Carson Valley Medical Center as same-day surgery staff, moving into a management role as the hospital developed. McKinney joins Rose Paiva, Kim Chi Nguyen, and James Gocke, and is currently accepting new patients at CVMCs newly remodeled clinic in Minden.
