December of 2021 marked 30 years since Broadbent & Associates, Inc. (Broadbent) opened its Reno location. Broadbent, an environmental, water resource, and engineering firm, was originally founded in 1987 in Boulder City, Nevada and opened its second location in Reno in 1991. Three decades later, Broadbent is still serving the northern Nevada community and continuing to expand as a company.

“We are thrilled that December marks 30 years since we opened our Reno office,” said Randy Miller, vice president and principal engineer at Broadbent. “Three decades is an incredible milestone for the company, and I believe our longevity speaks volumes of the quality of the services we offer. We have remained committed to providing exceptional solutions to complex environmental challenges in northern Nevada, and we are looking forward to continuing our mission for many decades to come.”

Beginning as a small office with only a handful of employees, Broadbent’s Reno location has grown to employ approximately 30 professionals. With a strong emphasis on culture and a healthy working environment, Broadbent takes great pride in the longevity and consistency of its professional staff.

Broadbent’s Reno office has been a key force in expanding into new geographic areas. Both Broadbent’s offices in Chico, California which opened in 2003 and its Elko, Nevada office which opened in 2020 were initiated by the Reno office. Similarly, Broadbent’s Reno location has been instrumental in the introduction of new services which have become available at Broadbent offices across the nation.

Broadbent is one of the leading environmental consultants in Reno and supports both public and private projects throughout Nevada and the surrounding area. Currently, Broadbent’s Reno division offers a variety of services including: soil and groundwater assessment, characterization, and remediation; environmental due diligence (Phase I and II ESAs); environmental field services; emergency response; cultural resources management; water/wastewater operations; asbestos/lead-based paint survey and abatement; industrial hygiene and indoor air quality; health and safety services; air quality permitting and stack testing; regulatory compliance; and engineering services.
