The Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation (NNCCF) Board of Directors has announced Fayth Ross as its newest executive director.

Prior to joining NNCCF, Ross has been deeply involved in the education nonprofit community, working at the Desert Research Institute (DRI), Sierra Nevada Journeys, and most recently, Urban Roots Garden Classrooms, where she served as the executive director for five years. Honored as Northern Nevada Business Weekly’s 2019 Sierra Nevada Top 20 Powerful Women, she will bring a positive and energetic leadership style to NNCCF.

“After an in-depth search and selection process, we are thrilled to announce Fayth as our new executive director,” said Shaemus McCrory, president of the NNCCF Board of Directors. “We feel that with her background, she will bring a fresh air to our organization and know that her deep passion for non-profits will help to advance our mission.”

As executive director, Ross will work alongside the Board of Directors, staff, and other volunteer leaders to assist NNCCF as they strive to enhance the quality of life for children with cancer and their families by helping to alleviate both financial burden and emotional strain, while also advocating for increased research funds and public awareness.

“I truly appreciate the board’s confidence, and I am thankful for the opportunity to lead such an inspiring organization that helps families cope with a childhood cancer diagnosis,” said Ross. “I am honored to know that my efforts as executive director will be of value to these families.”

The Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation is the region’s only local nonprofit solely dedicated to serving local children and their families affected by childhood cancer. NNCCF’s programs and services include the Family Assistance Fund, Inspire survivorship program, Adopt-a-Family program and emotional support through counseling and family activities.  For more information, call (775) 825-0888, visit www.nvchildrenscancer.org or follow on social media @NVKidsCancer.
