Commercial real estate firm Basin Street Properties announced recently that GuidedChoice has signed a lease at its 200 South Virginia Street property in downtown Reno.

Founded in 1999, GuidedChoice, a digital retirement advisory firm, was among the first such companies "to leverage technology to successfully provide a customized and transparent experience to its clients," according to a Dec. 21 press release.

In early 2020, GuidedChoice opened a new division in Reno, 3Nickels, “to bring holistic financial wellness and advice solutions to the market,” per the release.

With the new lease downtown, GuidedChoice is relocating its headquarters from San Diego to Reno.

“This is the time to bring our two business units together geographically,” Louis Van Zijl, President and COO of GuidedChoice, said in a statement. “We are thrilled to now bring our corporate headquarters to the Reno area; though, we will maintain a presence in San Diego as well.”

Dimitri Hallerbach of Corcoran Global Living represented GuidedChoice, while Patrick Riggs, Dominic Brunetti and Scott Shanks of Dickson Commercial Group represented Basin Street Properties in the transaction.

“We’re excited for GuidedChoice to settle into their new space at 200 South Virginia,” Scott Stranzl, Chief Portfolio Officer at Basin Street Properties, said in a statement. “Downtown Reno’s witnessed tremendous growth over the past couple of years and GuidedChoice’s fintech advisory services will be an excellent addition to the diverse mix of businesses in the area.”

It marks the 15th office lease this year for Basin Street at its three downtown Reno properties, according to the firm, totaling 39,541 square feet of new activity in 2021.
