The Public Utilities Commission of Nevada has scheduled a consumer session to hear public comment on NV Energy’s application to recover the costs of developing and implementing its Natural Disaster Protection Plan.

The session is scheduled Wednesday, June 8 at 6 p.m.

The projected cost of developing and implementing the program is $51.86 million. A PUCN spokesman said that would increase the average monthly residential bill for electric customers by 69 cents in Northern Nevada and 92 cents in Southern Nevada.

Those rates, if approved, would be effective Oct. 1, 2022 through Sept. 30, 2023.

Public comment can be made by calling the live conference line at 1-877-820-7831 during the public session. Comment can also be filed in person at the PUCN offices at 1150 E. William St. in Carson City or mailed to that address.

Written comments should reference Docket No. 22-03006.

Comment also can be filed through the PUCN’s electronic filing system at puc.nv.gov.
