Nevada Women's Fund Board of Directors has named Ila Achtabowski as president and CEO. She will assume day-to-day leadership and oversight of NWF's operations and fulfill its mission of strengthening the community by empowering women to improve their lives through education.
Achtabowski comes to Nevada Women's Fund as a proud native Nevadan born and raised in Fallon. She brings 25 years of business experience, having served as CEO of her family's small loan company since 1999. While ensuring the profitability and growth of the family business, she worked extensively in the community, most notably at Junior Achievement of Northern Nevada, where she served as interim executive director.
Achtabowski also sat on the Washoe County School District Career and Technical Education Board representing business and entrepreneurship and the board of the Sierra Nevada Chapter of National Charity League. Achtabowski will be the organization's fourth president and CEO since 1982, most recently taking over for Isabelle Rodriguez Wilson, who announced her retirement last month.
