RENO — As one of the few ski brands that manufactures its products in the U.S., Moment Skis has earned an exceptional reputation in its field while building long-term relationships with top-level skiers throughout the world.

Moment Skis has earned praise throughout the sport for its design philosophy, cutting-edge technology and high-quality construction of its skis, which are handmade with care in Reno.

Now, Moment Skis has reached a major milestone with the purchase of its Reno headquarters at 1085 Bible Way in a transaction valued at $2.075 million.

“This is an ideal new location that provides us with more factory space to add additional materials and also hire some new employees,” Moment Skis co-owner Luke Jacobson said. “We had reached a point where we could not meet all the demand from customers due to limited space for storing raw materials. This purchase provides a perfect solution and represents a very positive step forward for our company.”

Nevada State Development Corporation, the state’s largest provider of SBA 504 loans, assisted with financing for the deal in conjunction with Umpqua Bank.

“We are elated for the entire team at Moment Skis,” said Sandy Gordon, vice president/business development officer with Nevada State Development Corporation. “Not only does the new location give them much-needed extra space, but they will also be able to expand their retail space in the building, and they are confident this will in turn provide a more efficient and professional customer experience.”

Moment Skis manufactures snow skis and the business works with third party vendors to make ski bindings, ski poles, clothing and accessories. They sell and ship products worldwide with the majority of the products sold within the U.S. Their largest market outside of the U.S. is Canada, with additional distribution partners in Japan, Norway and Germany.

Typical customers are skiers ranging from the ages of 10 to 70, and Moment Skis also takes part in sponsoring high-level winter sports athletes.
