STEP2, a non-profit organization providing gender-specific long-term treatment services for substance abuse disorders, domestic violence intervention and education, and trauma services is pleased to announce the appointment of Sheila Poco as president of its board of directors.
Poco, who joined the STEP2 board in 2019, succeeds Steve Tate.
Poco relocated to Reno 28 years ago to attend college and stayed to raise a family and make Northern Nevada her home. She first learned of STEP2 while attending the University of Nevada, Reno, and having grown up in a family torn apart by addiction and violence.
As a local healthcare executive, Poco hopes to help STEP2 increase awareness of its services throughout the community and to encourage more of Northern Nevada’s women to break the cycle and heal their families.
