People: Julien Pellegrini named curator of education of Nevada State Museum

The Nevada State Museum in Carson City has hired Julien Pellegrini as curator of education.

This position is responsible for creating and managing educational programs and events. Pellegrini is a fifth-generation Nevadan with in-depth knowledge for the natural world, history, and Great Basin prehistory. He has worked in the natural resources field for various agencies and organizations throughout the state.

His accomplishments include assisting in the discovery of the once-believed extinct Sierra red fox in the Sierra Nevada Range and the documentation of the first active peregrine falcon nest in the state outside of Clark County.

Pellegrini began working at the Nevada State Museum in 2017 as a curatorial associate in the anthropological collections.
