Jewish Nevada has announced the promotion of Mara Langer to director, community engagement, Northern Nevada.
Formerly serving in a part-time capacity as community engagement coordinator, Langer has taken the lead in engaging and connecting with the Northern Nevada community to ensure the vibrancy and continuity of Jewish life throughout the northern part of the state.
Since joining the Jewish Nevada team in 2021, Langer’s efforts have helped promote great growth in the Northern Nevada Jewish community. Through Langer’s efforts, Jewish Nevada’s Northern Nevada annual campaign donors grew from 20 to over 130, and the dollars raised from the Northern Nevada area have more than doubled.
Langer has worked as a community relations specialist, project manager, and community relations manager before joining Jewish Nevada.
She has assisted Jewish Nevada with its community engagement, advocacy, and fundraising efforts by developing and implementing plans and strategies based on her business and philanthropic background and will continue to serve as the primary point of contact for event planning, Northern Nevada outreach, and support for community groups.
Langer holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial/organizational psychology from San Diego State University and a nonprofit fundraising management certificate from Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.
