Carson’s Fox Brewery and Pub is bringing its “craft game” to Reno. Wednesday, the brewpub announced the opening of another location in midtown Reno.

The original location within the historic St. Charles Hotel on South Carson Street was established in 2008.

“Ironically, the new location in Reno at 124 Wonder St., also has a rich and deep history,” the company said in a news release. “Known by locals as ‘The Holcomb House,’ (it) was operated by Don S. ‘Snoshu’ Thompson; he then leased the building to ‘Baileywicks,’ which operated very successfully in the late 1980s until 1996.”

The release said most recently the building was sold to Trent Schmidt and David Silverman who ran the Silver Peak Restaurant and Brewery “for 20 plus years until COVID hit in 2020.”

“We are excited to bring our brews and restaurant success to Reno,” said Fox owner Jim Phalan. “It has been a goal to expand our brand of craft beer and food to the Reno area. We have accumulated strong proven business practices in Carson and recognized a great opportunity here in Reno.”

A variety of events and activities are set for the Reno Fox location this summer. The 10-barrel brewhouse is in full operation piloted by Tim Mason and Chelsea Christen, the company said. The food menu has been “upgraded and well-tested.”

Business hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
