PBS Reno has hired Tammy Brocker for the role of education manager.
Brocker joins the expanding Education Services arm of PBS Reno that deploys a team of 40-plus accredited facilitators to classrooms in seven counties in Northern Nevada.
She is a certified special education teacher with nine years of experience in the classroom in Washoe County School District. She holds a master’s degree in special education from the University of Nevada, Reno, and a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication from the University of New Mexico.
As education manager, Brocker will communicate with PBS Reno’s facilitators who deliver more than 4,925 Curiosity Classroom workshops annually to classrooms in Washoe County, Carson City, Douglas County, Lyon County, Humboldt County, Elko County, and White Pine County.
Brocker will oversee the materials and supplies used by PBS Reno Education Services and will ensure each facilitator meets the needs of local students.
