Ioneer is pleased to announce the appointment of Nina Astillero as ESG director and Tashina Jim as tribal liaison.
Astillero has over 12 years of experience in the mining, building products, and environmental consulting fields. She has held several technical roles overseeing environmental permitting, remediation, auditing, and target setting. Previously, Astillero has worked at Holcim, Freeport-McMoRan, and Bureau Veritas North America.
Astillero holds a Bachelor of Science in geology with a minor in environmental studies from Temple University as well as a Master of Science in environmental engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Part of the external affairs team, Jim will serve as the central point of contact for Ioneer on engagement with tribal nations, organizations, and enterprises in Nevada.
Jim grew up in Schurz and is a member of the Walker River Paiute Tribe. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in indigenous and American Indian studies with an emphasis in environmental justice at Haskell Indian Nations University in Kansas.
After graduation, she served as the environmental manager for the Walker River Paiute Tribe.
