The Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada has announced the promotion of Sheila Imsdahl to senior vice president, investor relations and events.
After graduating from the University of Nevada, Reno with a bachelor of arts in advertising from the Reynolds School of Journalism, Imsdahl’s desire to work for a nonprofit organization led her to the American Cancer Society, where her fundraising and marketing accomplishments were recognized with the society’s “Exemplar Award for Outstanding Staff Performance.” As a Reno native, she has been focused on making a difference in the local community and region.
Throughout her career, Imsdahl has held positions in fundraising, event management, public relations and marketing. She has worked at the Terry Lee Wells Discovery Museum, where she had the opportunity to oversee the grand opening of the museum as their first manager of membership and events.
Imsdahl has also served in various positions related to event marketing and public relations at Anixter’s regional office in Pleasanton, John Ascuaga’s Nugget, Northern Nevada Medical Center, and Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
At EDAWN, Imsdahl has successfully led the organization’s events and fundraising efforts for more than 18 years cumulatively, collaborating with business and community leaders to fund EDAWNs mission of economic diversification and quality job creation.
Over the years, Imsdahl has also volunteered her time to support a number of local organizations, including Girls on the Run, Girl Scouts and Junior Achievement.
