People: Matt Clafton named senior vice president and manager to the food and beverage division at Alston Construction

Alston Construction announced Matt Clafton will serve as senior vice president and manager to the food and beverage division nationwide.

With over 28 years of construction expertise including 20 years with Alston Construction, Clafton has been responsible for an excess of 17 million square feet in our state since 1993.

He has been a part of many landmark projects statewide for clients including Zulily, Trex, PetSmart, Urban Outfitters, Bally Technologies, Angie’s Boom Chicka Pop, Kroger, FedEx, Mary’s Gone Crackers, Sears and more.

As senior vice president/regional manager for Alston Construction, his primary role is to ensure the financial and operational success of each project. In his new role, Clafton will oversee all food and beverage division projects.

Clafton earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno. He is a board member and past president of the University of Nevada, Reno Alumni Council, and supporter of the Nevada Football Alumni Association.

Additionally, Clafton currently serves on the board of directors for the Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation, a position that he has held for over 15 years. Clafton also holds a leadership role for the Alston Construction Amazon team.
