The Nevada Small Business Development Center in the College of Business at the University of Nevada, Reno announces the Nevada 2024 Small Business Challenges Survey and asks small business owners to participate.

The survey, which will run through Sept. 1, aims to collect responses from small business owners and entrepreneurs across the state of Nevada in an effort to more closely align small business resources to the needs of their constituents.

Since 2022, the Small Business Challenges Survey has annually compiled anonymous responses of existing Nevada small businesses owners and startup entrepreneurs, sharing the results with community partners.

In 2023, the top five challenges for existing business owners included adapting to inflation (44%), finding new customers (44%), handling cash flow challenges (30%), and securing funding (26%).

For those starting a business, securing funding was the top challenge (71%) with other challenges being developing a marketing strategy (34%), developing a business plan (31%), understanding and complying with governmental regulations (28%), and determining feasibility (25%).
