Mark IV Capital has announced the addition of Niel “Rick” Nelson as its new senior vice president, Northern Nevada.

Nelson, a retired U.S. Marine Corps major general and co-founder of a Nevada-based advanced materials company that supports the manufacturing of advanced clean energy technologies, brings a high level of expertise in enterprise management, team building, and strategic planning that was honed throughout his 35-year career in the Marines.

In his previous military experience, Nelson oversaw the activity of more than 50,000 Marines. His international experience with building and managing coalitions of logistics professionals in Europe and Africa transitions to his new responsibilities in the region.

His time as a senior business development mentor for the McKellar Corp., forged his skills in developing, implementing and supervising a wide range of research and training curricula for military professionals as he advised the department of defense.

With Nelson leading Northern Nevada, Mark IV continues to actively expand the Victory Logistics District through additional speculative phases and build-to-suit projects for distribution, manufacturing and data center uses on the south side of Interstate 80.

The firm is planning development on the north side of I-80 that will include housing to serve the thousands of new jobs the project will generate for the area.
