People: Charlie Brown named chairman of TMCC Diesel Advisory Board

Silver State International announced Charlie Brown, service manager, has been named chairman of Truckee Meadows Community College Diesel Advisory Board.

As a professional in the field, Brown has been selected to provide input to the Diesel Advisory Board on aligning TMCCs curriculum with the skills needed in the workforce.

As chairman, Brown’s role is to provide direction and serve as a spokesperson for the academic deans.

His responsibilities include establishing meeting dates and agendas alongside the advisory board coordinator, leading discussions, bringing closure on key points of discussion, providing input to the academic dean regarding the committee’s findings and approving all announcements, notices and other information sent to board members.

Brown has been with Silver State International for 12 years and has been service manager for more than two years.

Brown earned an Associate of Applied Science in automotive diesel technology from the Universal Technical Institute and is certified with Navistar.

As service manager, Brown is a resource for customers, ensuring they receive high quality repairs and customer service throughout the repair process.
