Western Nevada College and greenUP! announce on behalf of the Nevada Green Business Network that 57 businesses have certified green for the state of Nevada through 2023. There are 100 other businesses in the process of becoming green certified for the state. The environmental outcomes can be found in the impact report at https://nvgreenbusiness.org/2023-impact-report/.

For 57 businesses certified through the end of calendar year 2023, the following aggregated savings are documented:

• 2,112,169 kilowatt/hour of electricity

• 29,469 therms of natural gas

• 13,859,664 gallons of water

• 1,240,704 pounds of solid waste

• 1,697 gallons of hazardous waste

This resulted in total aggregated cost savings for businesses to date of $372,992. As part of the green business program process, each business receives a free-and-confidential scorecard so it can improve upon its environmental performance year over year.
