The Afton at Sparks Marina announced the groundbreaking of its development. This affordable housing project is being developed to serve the senior population, providing 142 units of affordable apartment homes.
The Afton at Sparks Marina will be built at 1275 E. Prater Way and is a three-story, 142-unit complex that will serve residents aged 62 and older.
The development offers a mix of one-and two-bedroom apartments, with 100% of the units reserved for seniors making 80% or less of the area median income, while the remaining units will be available at market rate.
The complex will include amenities such as a clubhouse, fitness center, valet trash services and covered parking. It is situated near Northern Nevada Hospital, Sparks Senior Service Center and the Sparks Marina Park.
Metcalf Builders will serve as the general contractor for the development.
