The number of solar-related jobs in Nevada increased 14 percent in 2023, more than twice the nationwide average, according to the Interstate Renewable Energy Council’s National Solar Job Census.

More than 1,000 jobs were added, bringing the total number of Nevadans employed in a solar-related industry to 8,592. Nevada ranks seventh in the nation for the total number of solar jobs and first in the nation on a per capita basis, with 269 solar industry jobs per 100,000 residents.

Since 2018, Nevada has seen a nearly 29 percent increase in the number of solar-related jobs. The bulk are in installation and project development, followed by wholesale distribution and operations and maintenance. Only about 300 solar-related jobs in Nevada are tied to manufacturing.

Nationwide, solar jobs grew 6 percent in 2023, bringing the total to nearly 280,000.
