The Carson Valley Visitors Authority, the tourism agency representing East Fork Township, has hired Josh Rudelbach for the newly created destination marketing and data strategies position.

In addition, the Authority promoted Michelle Valdovinos to destination engagement coordinator.

The Authority’s mission is to connect and influence travelers to visit Gardnerville, Genoa, Minden and Topaz Lake.

“In the fast-paced and ever-changing tourism environment, the organization has made a concerted effort over the past two years to focus on research and data to better understand our visitors and develop complementary programs,” said Executive Director Keith Lewis. “Josh has been instrumental in leading these efforts and his knowledge of our current visitors and potential audiences will help us effectively grow in a focused manner. Michelle’s new role will support the larger efforts and direction of the organization to all our stakeholder groups from locals to visitors and everything in between.”

Rudelbach is a senior-level tourism data analyst with 20-plus years of experience in sales and retail management focused on critical engagement strategies. For the last two years, he’s served as a consultant to the CVVA providing research and data analysis. Rudelbach’s expertise is in developing meaningful connections with travelers to generate increased tourism.

He will oversee the research and marketing efforts including developing and working with vendor partners on marketing, strategic planning and communications outreach including public relations and social media as well as paid advertising in traditional and digital environments. He will also foster working relationships with local partners and organizations.
