Holland & Hart announces the expansion of its environmental and energy practices with the addition of Reno-based partner Lucas Foletta.
His extensive experience representing large-scale energy consumers, gaming companies, and industrial users strengthens the firm's capabilities in power procurement and regulatory compliance.
Foletta delivers strategic counsel to help clients navigate complex regulatory hurdles before the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada involving rates, resource planning, energy supply agreements, and other contested matters.
He works with clients to identify power supply options and develops regulatory roadmaps for sourcing reliable energy. Foletta brings specialized expertise advising data center projects with diverse energy needs and negotiating a wide range of agreements with public utilities, from power purchase and energy supply agreements to high voltage distribution agreements and line extensions.
Before joining Holland & Hart, Foletta was a partner at McDonald Carano in Reno, where he chaired the Energy, Environment and Natural Resources Law Practice.
Previously, he served as general counsel and policy director to former Gov. Brian Sandoval, and as an assistant U.S. attorney for the District of Nevada.
