David Spitzer
Northern Nevada Legal Aid, formerly Washoe Legal Services, announces the appointment of David Spitzer as its new executive director.
After an extensive national search, the NNLA Board of Directors selected Spitzer for his longstanding commitment to the organization’s mission and his proven leadership skills.
Spitzer has been an integral part of NNLA for 12 years, most recently serving as the supervising attorney in the Adult Guardianship Unit.
Prior to that, he worked within the Second Judicial District Court’s Specialty Courts program, where he contributed to the development of the Diversion and Mental Health Courts and represented participants.
Under Spitzer’s leadership, NNLA will continue to expand its impact, assisting individuals in areas such as housing, consumer protection, domestic violence, child advocacy, adult guardianship and more.
The organization also operates a Civil Law Self-Help Center, a Senior Legal Center at the Washoe County Senior Center and a pro bono attorney referral program.
To manage and expand these programs, Spitzer will lead a team of attorneys, legal assistants, paralegals, administrative staff and volunteers who provide legal guidance and support to the community.
